Gates of Eden
Mike Zoss principal “Ethan Coen” tries his hand at the short-story form—though three of the “stories” are in fact radio plays, probably added to pad out the book.

The Drunken Driver Has the Right of Way
Crown Publishing tried mightily to move this collection of poems, some hew-ing to strict meter and rhyme, others less uptight, showing that “Ethan Coen” fancies himself a man of letters.

Down from the Mountain
This is the stuff. Acclaimed documentarian D.A. Pennebaker films the greatest roots music concert of all time: the recording artists who contributed to the soundtrack of O Brother, Where Art Thou? (q.v.) gather, rehearse, and give a one-night performance in Nashville’s historic Ryman Audito-rium. Though the “Coen Brothers” avoided Pennebaker during the shooting of the movie, uncertain as to whether to call him “D.,” “D.A.,” or “Mr. Pennebaker,” they were reportedly pleased on viewing the finished film.
